Some of them had rather different preferences, and rather preferred the company of other wimmin, but I'll admit to knowing one or two. Getting 'intimate' with them (the heterosexual ones, I mean) was always a bit of a balancing act. First, you had to persuade them to take a shower, as fresh from the camp they tended to be carrying rather too much Mother Nature around with them. As happy as a man can be with a Mills Bomb in his hand!



Taken last year when I walked the Kokoda Track. This collection of munitions were from the Japanese Mountain gun position above battle field at Eora Creek. There were several fierce battles here both on the Japanese advance to Port Morseby and their retreat back along the Track!

The stubby shells are from the Model 92 70mm gun (who knows it could even be from the same gun that blew my dad off Ioribaiwa Ridge!)
