Oleg didn't know much about how to make a good "game". Nor does Luthier apparently.

Oleg always thought if he just got the numbers right, the rest would somehow fall into place. I was dismayed about a year ago when in an interview at SimHQ, he was asked if he played Il-2 or the then SoW much. He said no, he had beta testers to do it for him...

Luthier asked what elements of gameplay would truly amaze us. More than 20pages of suggestions were given. Some joked about a love triangle. We got a cancelled Dgen and Spitgirl. "Trust me" Luthier said, "You guys are going to love it!"

Maddox Games badly needs a creative director.

What beta testers? ...
Jip, does make sense now if you see the state of the sim. In real life, I only get micro stutters like that when I had Mexican food…
Can anyone still remember Wing Commander 3? Very atmospheric and great all-round quality. In my opinion, that's how you make a game...

I personally think this is what is lacking and has been for a while, they seem to focus on trivial things while letting required stuff drop off the radar.
