Same tracer types...I've tried a few different types. A single tracers in number 1 and 8 guns in loadout screen.
Maybe it's a graphics glitch...

well I don't know whether you can measure the rate of fire by the number of tracers you see, but here's some interesting literature on the subject

.303s actually had a muzzle booster and lightened barrel to improve the rate of fire, so my wild guess is that maybe you're being deceived by the alternation of tracers from different perspectives.

I'm pretty sure that is caused simply by a different tracer loading of the two aircraft. Go to the armament screen and put the same type of belting on both planes and try again...
