Ohhh, I see. So I guess the steam version charged your card and didn't actually activate. If they were both on the same steam account that could screw it up (like the folks who got the Russian version and then the UK version).

This seems unlikely, but maybe check under Steam -> Games -> Manage gifts and guest passes and see if it's there... (If so you have to gift it to a different steam account).
