compare the people online between il2 firts of name and COD is not a good argument.
in fact even if COD was release with no bug or bad optimisation... there will be less people online than for il2 1946. during some years why? because il2 is more than two hundred planes...communyty project like dynamic campaign, mostly all theatre of war are mapped. the transfer of community between the two game will take much longer. remember when il2 firts of name was release... lot of virtual squadreon have fly on il2 AND on european air war. why? because in the first release... il2 was only a simulation of eastern front. the transfert between two game take a long time. ![]() |

It's false advertising IMO when they say 200 planes. More like 15 planes with a million different variants. ohhh look this one has a different colored button blah blah blah.

It's only a matter of time before cod is fixed... And remember that it takes at least 6 months to make a detailed model... Durhhhh

I think re-creating the aircraft in 3D only takes perhaps a week (exterior model) and perhaps the same for the cockpit view! If all the references are good and the devs decide the cockpit represents historical accuracy!
However I believe the 6 month thing is said to be a full- flyable aircraft with what I imagine to be the most time-consuming task : To animate every single lever, button, gauge, mechanical part etc etc etc. I think that's where the working hours go ![]() |

![]() It's not like these guys are AI programmers or sound engineers or people who can dig into the engine and eliminate a couple of things that cause stutters, or otherwise help with any of the existing issues. What they do is draw pretty textures, that's what they know, that's what they're paid to do and i'd rather have them working and getting a bit ahead of the proverbial curve, than sit in the office twiddling their thumbs just because some of us here entertain a notion that software developer teams are comprised of jack of all trades employees who can jump around between different fields of expertise. |

No where did they say they were going to release a new version/sequel without CoD being fixed. While some in the forum were saying CoD was deserted abandon-ware, Luthier has shown that the commitment to Cod is secure. They wouldn't be working on a new version if they were going to let CoD die. They have laid the groundwork to the forum members describing how they were going to proceed with repairs. But pay no attention to that. It's easier to be a punk and look cool. Personally I think I've seen enough videos online that lead me to believe CoD will be a fine purchase for me. Perfect? No, but despite the release state, they are working on it. I'll give the benefit of doubt to the team. Now if you have no plans to purchase more products from 1C, can you.... um.... bugger off? Last edited by Robert; 07-04-2011 at 04:35 PM. |

I think before he "buggers off" hes going to wait for the one he "paid for" to get fixed.
