In other games like old IL2 or ROF Win XP work for me better.

Thats why i stay with XP for now.
Because of DX10 and multicore better suport. In DCS series W7 kicks XP in performance too. And if we think that some have headtracking apps and a lot of things running background, I can't see why don't upgrade now to W7 x64. The new titles that REALLY uses multicore CPU will be glad.

Give it a try! IL2 1946 runs with maximum performance in 1/2 core here, isn't benchmark anymore

Maybe a dumb question but do you have the latest Steam update (about a week ago)?

Your setup is very similar to mine except you have a Radeon 5970 instead of my GTX570. I see Krupi's comment about 5970 but you are only unning one card aren't you?

You could try deleting all the .ini files (where settings may have been damaged, Luthier's comment not mine), Validate CoD in Steam and run it once to re-create the .ini's. It means starting again with the in-game setup but at least you know you have a clean start, especially if you installed any beta patches.

Delete all ini's in the CoD folder, the \Steam\userdata\79775862(??)\63950(??)\remote\ folder and your \My Document\1C Soft Club\CoD\ folder. I backed up the originals in case anything went horribly wrong - but it didn't.

The 5970 is a dual chip card and due to this it is seen as an Xfire card, if I were to get a 5870 or 6970 then I am sure I would have better fps.

That said the 5970 can still punch above the 6XXX and 5XX cards, the only cards faster than it atm are the 6990 and the 590 which are both dual chip as well. The team just need to sort Xfire out.

I am surprised you are having problems though, I have started testing the Radeon Pro with the Lost Planet Xfire setup and I am getting ~50fps above land.

Sorry, I had forgotten that. Back to the Xfire solution when it comes

I didn't have problems with Video, mine is the disappearing sounds but the implication from Luthier was that editing the .ini's could lead to problems and (at the time) I couldn't think why you would have a video problem. I do now

Sad to hear this Pickard, sometimes I admit I feel the same, especially when I see what IL2FB newest packs (UltraPacks) can do...

Stutters! :-O

Luthier has not given up mate, The american release has been put back, its bought the dev team sometime to try and get this game bug free before release, they have done a great job in getting this game up and running in the short space of time since release (it was effectively a dead duck on release). A bit more fine tuning with performance and graphic glitches will see the Dev's move on to sorting out the bugs and maybe introducing DX11 though that maybe a little too optimistic.

This time I'm with Tree (and remember that Tree is always right ) We are close to it. Let the devs some weeks to solve the bigger bugs (or the big buggers? ) then they can work on the 50% of game features still disabled, on the contents and playability, on FM and CEM, on new theaters ... For the time being for me it will be a mix of online ClOD and UP 3.0. Today's rigs eat up the old 1946 as peanuts ...

Cheers,
Insuber

Think we have all learnt that it it doesnt matter what setup you have.

What works for someone doesnt work for another and it might be the smallest piece of hardware difference that is porking it..

My system is the same apart from i upgraded gfx Card from 5770 > 6950 and i made around 30% improvement in FPS

I also installed better and more RAM but this hasnt made any difference on benchmarks etc so i doubt it made any difference to this game,,,funny how RAM works

4 Gig of crucial 1333mhz RAM in Dual channel made more then 8Gig G-Skill 1600mhz downclocked to 1333mhz (mobo spec) in Dual

Hope you get it sorted soon OR they release a patch that allows this game to be run on what their recommended spec were originally
