Try hitting your windows key and jumping back to your desktop. Then click on the CLoD icon and jump back into the game.

I've tried that and no gravy, still just a black screen with all the sounds playing. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I have had similar issues. The problem is the company has not acknowledged these problems that at least hundreds if not thousands of people are having. Some people I talk to can play the game with no issues. However these issues you are mentioning no one has a fix for. They will all be suggestions to do. The fix is going to have to come from the company. I am a patient person however I expect the company to acknowledge the issues and try to fix them. You can keep trying the suggestions however nothing has worked so far for me and the latest patch has made everything worse. My advice would have been do not pay for something that is not finished. Now you are at the mercy of when they fix the issues that are plagued here.

Well I changed it to dx9 config and that got it working! But with a terrible frame rate and graphics that remind me of Chuck Yeager Air Combat!
So I'm just going to give up for now, maybe have a look in a few months and see if any patches have helped.
Its just abit of a bugger that while my computer might not be up the same spec as some of the beasts you guys are running it still exceeds minimum requirements, but the game is unplayable, even on low settings!!
Back to IL2 1946 I suppose, although Rise of Flight or Wings of Prey are looking tempting right now....
