I have the same video card and am also having the same return of the awful stutters with this beta patch. The previous beta was much better with the stutters..they were almost all (but not completely) gone. The new beta has buggered things up for those of us with a dual GPU card again (or at least, those of us with a 5970). There is no way to disable Catalyst AI through CCC (I am using the new official ATI 11.4 drivers).

I did delete the cache etc... and made no changes to any of my in game settings pre and post this latest beta patch.

I have rolled back to the previous beta and I obviously hope this is sorted before the beta patch goes final.

Hope this feedback is of some help to the devs.

They must sort it out before official release, there is much 5970 owners and with this beta2 it's totally unplayable with that terrible stuttering and flickering.

As i say allready in another post, i can test some betafixes with my 5970 how is it working

5970 or 6990 owners are pretty much screwed right now because of built in Crossfire into a single GPU, so you cannot disable it and run on only one.

Apart from that did you read my post in answer to yours on the previous page?

At least it should give you some suggestions on how to reduce general stutters and how to disable Catalyst A.I.

Yeah, thanks but this is not right solution, there is much people who don't know that method and even many doesent know how to make these changes.

Secondly this is not AMD recommendable method. I have read some people are pissed their card this way, i dont know how true is it but there must be official fix for those cards.

Well, let me state two things..

Modding the Profiles.xmp has nothing to do with irreversible changes, it is just a matter of re-opening the file with notepad and changing settings back.

Disabling Catalyst A.I. is not linked whatsoever with disabling one of your GPU´s or anything, I dont think you can even do that on a 5770 to be honest, which is the problem for you guys right now.

I don´t get why people refuse to update their drivers or tweak their system to make games run better but that´s your choice I suppose. Little someone like me can do to help then though.

Come again bro?

I am giving it a rest, I got the game running sweet at fully maxed out graphics for me and with working Anti-Aliasing so what do I care? But yeah, people who come and complain about performance but then refuse to make any tweaks or even update their drivers to the latest version should stop whining.

Peace out and happy flying.

EDIT: I am not saying this about you personally, before you start jumping onto some high horse. You ARE pretty much screwed with the latest beta patch, just like 6990 users.

Its a feedback thread about a beta patch...we gave feedback on why the beta patch is not working for for our (rather common) hardware..Don't quite see any ranting going on there old boy.

I thanked you for your assistance and suggestion earlier, so cant quite see the need for your sanctimonious questioning of why oh why wont people just get of their arse and do some more tweaking.

EDIT: Oh bugger, I just saw your edit above. Yup, that was what got me ticked off originally. Put this down to internet miscommunication mate. All good.

plays better than previous on mine, one thing I have (and have had but are more noticeable now the game is playable) is somewhat jerky aminations for some moving parts such as the incockpit joystick and some control surfaces? just me or an issue?

This patch is quite stuttery, especially when there's alot going on visually, although, conversely, just tooling around over England it's probably the smoothest it's been (which is to say quite stuttery). I'd gotten used to having very smooth gameplay at altitude even with 20 or more machines in the air. Also I'm experiencing alot of CTDs and graphical freezes that require me to end the game. I'll probably go back to the last patch as this one's kanckering up gameplay.

Appreciate the efforts you all are making, the sim's got so much potential and is worth keeping going at, and enjoy your time off you must all be beat.
