I still get some stutters in the midst of a furball (6v6) when lots of guns and hits are happening. When i turn any of my settings higher the fps drops sharply, same as before.

BTW- i'm still loving it, same as before
Try Shadows OFF and grass and roads ON.. Shadows seems to be a big factor.. Also, try a test mission with some of your "LOW" settings.. from my testing some things on HIGH have almost no real impact.. might as well leave them HIGH and have it look better.

Luthier, the issue with HD6xxx series cards might be the same issue I get with my HD4870. The issue is the cards do not clock up to max clock speeds when running Cliffs of Dover, they sit at idle. All ATI/AMD graphics card users should check their clockspeeds while playing Cliffs of Dover, you may find its not clocking up and this is a significant cause of FPS issues.

I get poor performance from this. My workaround involves forcing clockspeeds on the card and overriding the PowerPlay function which controls the clocks dynamically. I am not sure if this is a driver related issue or due to the fact the game runs in a pseudo-fullscreen mode which is not common in 3D games.

I got help with MSI afterburner, i overclocked my card and now its working on full speed. if you not want to overclock much you can overclock 1mhz core and mem.

To me it's all about the eye candy you prefer. I love the shadows effects in the cocpkpit and can live without the higher detail on the ground- the slight stuttering i get with my current settings is not too significant for me and i can wait for more optimisation.
I'm less concerned about the graphics at the moment and concentrating more on how to get a merlin to run fast without blowing it up- this CEM is HARD!

@ Blakduk...

How are you turning your Land Shadows to Low?

Even duct tape can't fix stupid... but it can muffle the sound.

Which aircraft? To be honest I have not found the full CEM too much hard work.

Mix, rad and prop pitch is all you need to fiddle with and by watching the colour of the exhaust stacks it's pretty easy to gauge your mix. Keep props below 3000rpm and temp around 80 and you are fine.

What are your settings, what conf.ini changes have you made? Your ststem should run this game pretty well I would think. What FPS are you getting? If you post information, people with similar setups will help you.. complaining won't really fix it

im getting 70fps with kegetys mod but it still stutters and the sound is broken, loads of things wrong with it,if its not fixed in the next patch,im gonna get a refund and be done with it tbh, even though i know it will be fixed it may be good while before it is fixed(like 6 months).

Turn off the Epilepsy Filter and you'll get much better performance.
