From what i can see you don't need to mess with code to create a map.

Use the F1 + keys to bring up different menus.

navigate to

\Steam\steamapps\common\men of war assault squad\resource

unpack "Map.pak" file using winzip or zip7

after its unpacked it will create a folder called map, inside this folder you will see two folders "single" and "multi" If you are creating a multiplayer map, copy the "battle_zones.mi" and "combat.mi" from any of the unpacked multiplayer map folders and add these two files to your map folder.

I'm not sure about single player map creation as i haven't tried it yet.
