Only freestead is easy to command , any villages too hard to set guards , protect...etc.

I was able to get control of Byridge. I only ever took control over two villages, Freestead and Byridge. I beat the game, but never got another village while playing.

I forgot how I took control over Byridge, but I remember it being pretty easy I think, just had to do their quests.

So if you want another village, go to Byridge and do their stuff . It's not bad to defend and control, but you'll have to watch out, sometimes the monsters attack it when you visit, and you'll have to kill them fast, or they'll kill off villagers.
