Hey Wildboar,
Excellent description, brings back some memories here too! Couldn't believe how anyone saw anything when I started to play in the mode, and yes it can be frustrating. I guess for some new to this mode it stops right there, getting hammered all the time. Here's a few ideas how to pull through: - play simulator in training mode, the AI aren't as cruel as RL players and you can practice spotting a lot - have your HUD turned on fully - this will give you a dark spot on the screen when the enemy is far away from you - check your map and scan accordingly - when scanning, develop a relaxed gaze into a sector of the sky/landscape, don't focus on anything particular, that way you will detect movement much faster - give each sector you're scanning a couple of seconds, then go on - and probably best, practice sim with friends or experienced people who are willing to give you an easy entrance - look for people who have the compass banner in their signatures, like me Good luck with your next steps! when we say scan the map...for me i am CONSTANTLY (every few seconds ) slapping that button. seeing where the bandits are and going from there. DONT sluff off ( a red dot ) or let any one spawn behind you if you can help it. the 10 red spots in front of you are less of a threat than the one "harmless" one behind you. i am not one of the top top notch players...i have been playing this almost a year and still am learning....thank God the bullets arent real or my momma would be shedding a lot of tears and i would be staring at the roots of daises.....
if you can hook up with a buddy who will let you fly around and get your sim legs so to speak ( play follow the leader to see if you can keep them in visual...get a shot on them etc.) that would be great. anyone on xbox i am willing to share what little i know.

Up close it's all about the elevatorsettings and the BFM for me. I mostly fly full wep. Speed is a key.
Check this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_fighter_maneuvers When not the usual situation is on that is... Last edited by Colonel Zick; 04-18-2011 at 10:07 PM. |

Some advice Guy's............
Was messing out with JOED70 tonight working out why Lypme Airfield in CTA Sim mode has a secret Spitfire "trip wire" located across the 1900 yrd runway !!! . JOE did finally manage to land with success but not without noticing that after passing a point between the two pillbox's, JOE''s Spitfire cast a black shadow after rolling over a line visible from the air between them, then without warning the prop would sieze and ac crash. !! Anyway....the question....In Sim using a spit....PS3 pad set to Aviator setting (Layout 3)..... how do you set the "trim"....normal layout is the X button, I find that my Spit will natually climb if trim not set. When landing just as I have her on the deck .....if i concentrate on slowing down she will rise of the deck again ! ......have i missed the obvious ? WildBoar. |

When playing strike.....with PS3 pad set to Aviator setting option 3 .......I cant set the trim to get her to fly level....so when aiming for a bomb run the nose constantly comes up putting my aim off....
Any suggestions how I can "trim" on this set up....? Mainly use bomb laded fighters.... Thanks Guy's |
