Meh, the GPU won't matter all that much if you have a new(ish) videocard on a sim like this. Whats going to matter is CPU, and the faster the better. Multi-core will help, probably by offloading some stuff - hopefully AI - but not nearly as much as pure MHz speed.

All I'm concerned about is minimum framerate which will be impacted by the number of AI loaded into the map and the number of polys being pushed (low flying over those cities is going to be a frame killer be sure).

We'll probably see well over 60fps at altitude but down low will kill even the best system without being frugal with view distance. That means a lot of fights will be dragged low over cities once someone gets nervous, and we'll have to play with lower than ideal video options all the time just to make up for those situations. Good luck shooting down a decent pilot at 14fps.

Hopefully I'm overstating things and Oleg has managed to tweak performance enough to keep us over min 30fps on medium settings over cities on upper mid-range systems but don't be surprised when it doesn't run like a console game on your uber system come March.

Or at least prepare to settle for less than you're used to: low-res/highAA or native res/noAA.
