Recently upgraded to a 460 GTX, It will be interesting to see how BoB(AKA COD) handles SLI. It will be a cheap upgrade for me to get another 460.
Cheers! |

Ati 4890 and no intention of upgrading for at least 6-12 months, unless a major bargain comes my way. Spending the money is not justified for me when:
1) The game looks good enough to me as it is on the development screenshots, the only thing i'll need to do is enable anisotropic filtering and antialiasing and i'm good to go. 2) I don't play any games where GPU performance is critical like first person ones. By the time i get a DX11 card i guess a 69xx or equivalent could be less than 200 Euros. More bang for my buck that way and i can totally live with a bit less polygons and for example, 1024x1024 instead of 2048x2048 sized textures for a few months. As long as it looks like the development screenshots with a few filters thrown in and runs smoothly, i'm covered in the graphics department. It's the new game mechanics i care most about. It's a game about aircraft, it already looks like aircraft, what i want to know is how much it sounds, flies and operates like aircraft. The latter two being the main distinction between a simulator (that i guess most of us are after) and any other gaming genre that includes some highly detailed 3d models of real aircraft which might not really behave as such. The eye candy is good enough, let's see what's under the hood ![]() |

GTX 260 that i got back in July 2008. Was pretty good by the standards of the time, but is getting more and more outdated each day. It's amazing how fast technology advances. I plan to get a GTX 580 in about 6 months when the prices come down a bit. It'll be interesting to see how Cliffs of Dover runs on my 260. My guess will be about mid settings, as i can still play most games on higher settings while still getting 40-50 fps. But honestly nobody knows exactly how the "final product" will run on our machines. I don't think it will be comparable to that of what we saw at Igromir because the code has been further optimized and alot more bugs have been ironed out.

OVER 50% not dx11...
Really,if dx11 is buggy in the sim right now I would rather not have it,that would just cause another thread full of complaints Oh,and 4850 1GB. Plays RoF very nicely,so I think I will be alright. For now... |
