So, for the time being this is in no way true. Correct?

No, not correct. It's "no matter, if this true, or not - you didn't hear it from me, you don't know me and I never have told you anything".

UBI it is then?

Pity. I hardly ever posted here so far. But I suppose I need to say this now...I vowed to not buy SHV due to the DRM. As life goes, I got too edgy not to own it and got it nevertheless.

I will never make that mistake again. The fear of some internet disruption forever spoiled me enjoying SHV carefree like the old titles. I've been always slightly on edge of another server disco. And there were quite a few. If that is the price to pay for copy protection, then this price is too high. I play to relax, not to be stressed out.

Hopyfully the russian version will be available.

Cheers.

I too will not buy if UBI's copy protection is on the disk. I would go for steamworks though.

I'll buy it regardless, and moan like efff it the CP stops me from playing even once.

An always on connection could be a good thing though, if we get integrated chat, server browsers (didn't Oleg mention something about this a while back or am I imagining it?), online stats and stuff.

I have no need for any of that Dano. I decide when I go online, not some greedy beancounting tie-wearer in the marketing department of some publisher. I do own a few steam games but at least you can stay offline on this one. Ubi is doing cloud-computing instead ... which doesn't work.

Those are all multiplayer features, and I don't think anyone has problems being online for that Personally I have no interest in any of those things, just like with achievements that can be shared over Facebook and unlock avatars for use in game-related spinoff apps on my smartphone...

Of course, I'm only stating my personal opinion.

Sorry to be such a newbie regarding all this UBI "protection thing" but are some people reacting allready to something that "might" happen or not ?
Could you explain what would be the worst scenario in means of playability of SOW if UBI were to be publisher ? Maybe I was lucky , but I never encountered any issues in that matter

Thanks to all !

Salute

If it's a problem they'll fix it. DRM is supposed to increase revenue not decrease it, both for publisher and devloper, thus keeping Oleg fat and happy and productive.

Looking forward to maybe getting some more information from this thing in Moscow, and perhaps finding out if The Battle for Moscow is SoW related. Anyone able to read and translate what the sub-text below 'Battle for Moscow' is in that picture posted?
