lol i wish i could have that vintage piece of furniture in my living room.. Probably buyng one like that on ebay would cost more than my modern hdtv screen!

I do have a more recent vintage portable tv, from 1960,

1960s HD input?? Dude you are stinking on drugs! ...well, ok, actually drugs and the 60s go hand in hand...but in the 60s having COLOR was a BIG deal. saw the Beatles ( in B&W) live from Liverpool via "satellite" on the Ed Sullivan show...you couldnt even tell who was who because the image was so grainy. our portable video game system..... was a freakin etch-a-sketch!! HD, 60s, LMFAO!!! the first hand held LCD calculator didnt come out until 1973..and the most popular was the texas instruments SR-10 . until then we used a relic called a "slide rule" <<<< google it & you will laugh your @$$ off (but i do have 2 of them from school)...then...sit and ponder this .... the engineers used those "relics" to get the first rockets into orbit and back!! YES, they did have a computer...that was the size of a small house ... the laptop ( or desktop) you own now, has 1000 times the power than than that one did! most of the everyday calculations of the rocket and the orbit was done by SLIDE RULE and HAND. Shepard and Glenn (not to mention the russian cosmonauts)...were braver soles then we can ever imagine..... 60's HD?? FM radio didnt hit my area until 68. thanks for the chuckle VDom ...you actually made my day...and that my dear man, is by no means a simple task! and dont give up the flying lessons! once you are done with you're single engine land ticket ... get tail dragger and acrobatic time. trust me....you will LOVE it! take loans out if you have to to make it happen...you will never regret it.......

It is an original Brionvega Algol, I like the design and it suit my living room bookshelf very well.

He completly missed your joke and 'lol' and thought you where anoyed that your 1960's vintage tv didn't have hdmi lol. Then I think he was mistaking you for someone else who is actualy taking real flying lessons. So just a misunderstanding on bobby's part due to a little drink I would guess lol. I wouldn't take offence vdomini.

By the way is that a scart socket in the back of the tv? in 1960? no can't be can it? too early for scart. Well if it is at least you could connect your console with the RCA plugs lol

The one in my lounge is very similar which I bought in 1964 but of course its modded..... It has a Sony Plasma screen interfaced to a techniks Hardware motherboard with a wireless RF link to the Sat Dish........

there was probably more wood working craftmanship in old telivisions than there is in all but the most expensive furniture made today.
