Tree UK

Oleg is much more responsive to us than he has been in a long time. Luthier is available as well. These are two very good signs.

I'm trying to get the point over here guys that it really is a case of "going with the flow". I'm sure Oleg has all the key parts he intends to work on for the release already in place, it's just a case of putting them all together and then giving it to us (well offering to us, as to give means it would be free ).

I would think that as-much as we would all like to see this aircraft, or that effect, etc,etc the focus is now on getting what there is into a sale-able product and then internal Alpha/Beta and finally ready for Gold.

What I tried to make clear in the OP was, look, we are all excited about this, if we weren't we wouldn't be on the forums checking the status regularly, but there is no-point whining or complaining about what you would like to see, as whatever is going to happen...will happen.

The updates are interesting, but only video showing the sim 'in-action' makes me interested as I can get an idea of what will be in the future release. Images give you an idea of what visually there will be, but consider the Spitfire video.

You could see the aircraft shake, the shadows move, the water shine, all in real-time.

A still image just can't convey that? So while there can be complaints of how tracer looks and how flames aren't right (not my op.) only a video can show how the flames and smoke move, how the tracer looks, how the clouds move (I guess) and if there will be dynamic weather (I'm sure I heard you would take-off in sunlight then roll into a storm?).

But ultimately we are the consumers and Oleg is the supplier and until the sim is released we may as well just sit down, look at the Friday update, drink an ice-cold beer and look forward to the Simulation event of the decade (just not sure which decade though!)

Cheers, MP

Arise Sir Philip of Ed!

Now, off to the fridge and crack open a cold one!

The Tao of SOW. My only question is, will a nice glass of bourbon do? (Quip aside, I'm with you Puma, and have been for some time.)

How long would it take from handing over the sim to the publishers so they can put in their DRM and copy protection etc and the product going gold?

Sounds like a great time to take a holiday to me!

Of course I am being overly optimistic and have often been told I live in a different world to normal people. (generally by my wife!)

Cheers!

Holy Mackerel! Imagine if Oleg has already gone through Beta testing and is ready to go GOLD. All these images are a ruse to his real intentions. He'd have to threaten "death, torture and banishment to Detroit" to the one who would leak any info before he allowed anything to get to us. LOL. After all the patch leaks from IL2, that would be a crowning achievement, IMO.

edit: Oh what the heck. I'll go a step farther. While Jason (777 Studios) was in Russia a few months ago shoring up his dealings with neoqb, he was also pursuing publishing rights to BoB.

But alas. Robert steps back into reality.

Im 100% certain that if SOW was being beta tested that we would get to know about it, add to that we still have no dedicated website which is a 'must' for advertising purposes then i think that in all reality that Oleg is just taking some time off, however i would be very happy to be wrong.

Oleg has enough people working for him directly on the project to Beta the SOW.

Also, he has some very loyal friends that wouldn't spill the beans on a beta.

So, a beta release is probably never going to be a consideration.

When SOW gets far enough that release is close we'll probably start seeing SOW video track releases.
