Your CPU is on the very minnimum and has been said by others the listed specs that 1c gives you is way off what is actually needed to play the game and have decent framerates. Is your graphics card an AGP slot?. I once put this game into my really old P4 2.9Ghz, 2GB ram and a 8500GT PCI only card. I honestly got about 5fps

Don't just thank me. Kennyb87 contributed greatly too, as I had a feeling he would. I glad we can help you out. Pausing & Unpausing was an option I never thought about. Good find

AGP are pretty old now maybe time to upgrade to a PCI-E board, The road not appearing I think is your CPU not being quick enough to proceess the loading map in front of you. try stopping your truck and waiting for the road to load. Back when I was about 12 or something that used to happen to me on Hard truck 2 and stopping for a minute or 2 made the road appear again and it's made by the same company.

Close all applications that you dont need and you can try running the game in realtime priority too in task manager that focuses your PC on running the program that you are currently using

@Melcor,
I also heard of someone saving that portion & re-loading it along with Kennyb87s' advice

@Kennyb87,
"try running the game in realtime priority too in task manager that focuses your PC on running the program that you are currently using"
Can you elaborate more on this?

Take the program location on mine its "C:\Program Files\1C\RigNRoll\rungame.exe" for the game file, go into task manager click the top left and got to new task put the destination path in and press enter. Rig n roll takes a few seconds to boot up so go to processes and and look for RNR right click and go to set priority, realtime. It can give a decent boost in performance on some lower end PC's. I'm on XP hate Vista and never tried 7 yet

Many thanks.

I outgrew XP (for my own reasons), went to Vista, and I also hated it. Now I'm with 7, and I truly love it. Applications are quicker, and IMO allocates memory optimally. I have many programs running at the same time, and have no problems to report thus far. I had it since it came out.
