It's like in car racing: you start with a Turismo car, then you switch it with a GP2 car and finally you race with a F1 car. You feel the power... I'm really interested in flying a Tiger Moth, then jumping in a Hurricane, then in a SpitfireI... and feel the difference in the new marks... And what about the progression if the 109's pilot: Emil, Friedrich, Gustav... jumping in a 190 for the first time... ![]()

![]() A whole generation of pilots learned to treasure the Spitfire for its delightful response to aerobatic manoeuvres and its handiness as a dogfighter. Iit is odd that they had continued to esteem these qualities over those of other fighters in spite of the fact that they were of only secondary importance tactically. Thus it is doubly ironic that the Spitfire’s reputation would habitually be established by reference to archaic, non-tactical criteria. |

I'd think we're more likely to see polished metal in SoW: Korea, which should be out before SoW gets to 1943-44... I hope.
It'll be great if we can get same effect as in MiG Alley, where you'd see a reflection wink at you before the plane became visible. |
