akin to all the other virtual pilots that have posted here I love this game!! I'm sooo sad that after a stressful day at work I set up a training mission against a slow bomber & just free-fly, exploring the map of my choice.
Usually set in the evening/hazy watching the sun refract on me & the scenery as I fly under bridges, along cliff faces & following rivers etc.
I have made many friends & don't take my battles too seriously, if I end up top dog great!, If I get shot down so be it.( you always get another chance!)
The XBOX pilots are now a small group but there is great camaraderie.
I waited years for a game just as this to come to the XBOX 360, you will find me on almost every evening.

Flight sims in general have netted me some of my best friends both online and in the real world. Il2 is great for the variation that it offers it's players, not just plain sim or arcade as is usually the case with flight sims but three modes ensuring everyone is catered for. The graphics are certainly some of the best available on the next gen consoles this combined with satisfying playability have made it one of my best purchases on the ps3.

I love this game for giving me a taste of a WW II sim with the flexibility to be an arcade style game on my XBOX. I love this game for giving my wife endless hours of entertainment as I lean left and right subconsciously and unable to stop my self.

I love being able to hop into an authentic WW II plane from the comfort of my living room. I love the fact that people are so authentically excited and fond of the game.

See you in the skies.

You mention in the office during the 'what you doing over Easter conversation' that your dogfighting with mates to then be told that it's cruel and that your going to be reported to the RSPCA (royal society for the protection of animals).
I'm still trying to get all of the coffee out of my nose I laughed that much!!!

Ha ha, I have visions of that scene in The First Great Train Robbery film with the Pit Bulls

I have to say when I play this game with my ipod on I can almost enter a trance. I get totally transported to the game, only game that does it to me. Its the flying. Its relaxing flying and exciting shooting. Great combination

Where else would you find B17's, HE111's, A20's and Blenheims bombing together whilst LA7's, Spits and 109's dogfight together and against each other in the virtual skies of Kent, Berlin....
