There's an option in WOP to disable virtual cockpit in online sim games I think. It is better than nothing, especially since they have all the cockpits.
If we disabled virtual cockpit nobody could fly german planes. Well a couple of moths ago when I still could play online there weren't many people using them, so maybe it's not a big deal, but still.

i only use cockpit view as i such prefer it, cause its more realistic.the only time i fly with virtual cockpit view is, if i have to play with planes which sadly have no cockpits, like the bfs. i would avoid to fly them, but i still have planes and weapons to unlock.once i unlocked everything, im going to fly only spitfires.
