I think what he meant was to ask real pilots about stick forces in real aircraft...ff is very arcade and unreal in flight sim

Yeah, and who makes those sims? There has been no (flight) sims to make advances in the programming of force feedback and only recently any real hardware advances. Racing games have more mass appeal than flying, yet they also had loads of bad FF devices and sims not using it that well. It's only in the past 3 years or so that it made a huge (really huge) jump forward. So to ask pilots what they think of FF joysticks with flightsims, is to ask what they think about how it was like in 2001 basically. Of course it will be pretty negative. EDIT: And most things are unreal and arcade with our consumer grade sim gear, as I pointed out. Yet we think they are better than going even lower, like go back to keyboard and mouse because spring joystick just doesn't behave like a real control column etc.
