HORI EX Flight controls. (HELP!!)

The target camera is controlled by a lower trigger on the flight-stick below the A (trigger) button. Pressing Y changes the target the camera follows.
If I remember correctly pressing Y on the joy-pad changes the view from cockpit-3rd person etc. So I guess I need to reconfigure the buttons, shame you can't on this game!
I can of course preset the view with the options setting & with fighters this is no problem, but try switching to options when your flying a B17 with 3 bandits shooting up your six & your bombing targets are looming!!
Does anyone on this forum use this flight stick with IL2 ???
The AV8Rwas great value but I broke it(rudder control) during the heat of battle!!

By the hat button do you mean the D pad button on top of the flight stick?
There are two D pad buttons. The second being on the throttle.

The camera change command is issued with the "coolie hat" button on the stick.

It's a small joystick on top of the flightstick that controls the view (i.e. look up, down...). The coolie hat if clicked will change the camera.

At least that's the way it works on my ace edge, which is a white hori stick that was issued as a special treat to Ace Combat 6.

Click the coolie hat...

That button function is and always has been the "R-3" button.
Press R-3 to change POV on the fly.

My av8r switches the layout. The ace edge probably does to. For me RSB(right stick button) changes the view. Does the ace edge have the stick buttons?

None of the buttons change the view.(3rd person,cockpit etc)This can only be done using the options menu.
The y button changes which target you wish to focus on. B button for back, X for bombs!
