- P-51 I think, is now among the top 3-5 best planes on this game

* I kept the same sensibility for these planes, they still spinout if you lower the sensibility but kept the same they turn way better
So Edal would you say that both those planes are now "competative"? That is to say could an average pilot fly them with some success, as apposed to before where it required a much more skilled hand at the stick?

The P51 is certainly capable in terms of handling, but as armaments go its like a neutered Hurricane.

What the P-51D's 6 .50 machine guns??? 1 short burst can make mince meat out of all but the IL-2's. Same for the Hurricane, its firepower is pretty awesome. Try the P-51B and the MC.202 now they ARE underarmed.

What you don't like 500lb bombs or vicious rows of 10 HVAR's? It's a murderous attack plane, better armed than a stormovik.

I hope they didn't make p51 close to the spitfire though. It's max sustained turn is 24s while the spit's is 19s. It should not be gaining degrees on a spit in a loop chase. Getting angles on a spit or la5 should require some very clever 3d maneuvering for p51, or of course an good angle to start with.

But for those who like p51's, here is where I found the best info on its turning abilities. All the original Republic tests show nothing but climb rate, airspeed, drag, etc.

Check out the last charts of the bf109's, too. The p51 can get angles on a 109 at lower speeds, but at higher speeds the 109's get the angles. Right about even depending on tactics. Also the F4 is waaay better than the g-6 at degrees/s, especially at lower speeds.

yeah I done figgered that out eventually but unfortunately everything else is so different that I can't use that layout online. Having a real rudder is important, but it turns out I need that fine throttle control more. Especially now that it's easier to disappear while your opponent has blackout vision. Also kept looking at the map when it was time to fire.
