Default not sure what you mean ...

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I would pretty much guarantee MW2 will be more serviceable than IL2 upon release ...

At least they fixed it

Lets face it, the lack of news regarding a patch here has split the group and pushed lots away, me included.

Way it goes.

Mw2 maybe will be the final blow to BoP, but I'm one of those who will NOT be buying it. For many reasons. And thinking of an Fps, I still love Kz2, so I don't need another.

I haven't had any time to play BoP in the past two weeks, but yesterday I managed to have a sim game at 2pm gmt.
And, even without the patch, it was great fun.

Default Occam's Razor

This guy was right on:

http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=10850

Inside information or not and horrible syntax notwithstanding, he is most likely correct. The fact that the post was locked supports this thesis.

Ever hear of the philosophical apparatus Ockham's Razor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor)?

Applied to the question of this "update," it also suggests that it is not going to happen.

Occam's razor states that the explanation of any phenomenon should make as few assumptions as possible, eliminating those that make no difference in the observable predictions of the explanatory hypothesis or theory.
So.. this law is by definition not applicable to this subject, since there's nothing else than assumptions. Some assume they have the decency to publish the update, some assume they don't. Some assume the publishers don't find it worth it, some don't. Should I go on?
Your assumption that the quoted thread was locked is plain nonsense. First of all, this is the 1C forum, not 505, so it's not like they want to 'cover up' or anything. Secondly, a more probable reason is that the mods don't want, let's call it incriminating topics on this forum stating negative 'facts' that are not backed up.
Another thing that bugs me is that people say 505 won't make any profit off of the update. Of course not, we're not paying for it. The main reason 505 should publish the update is to try to keep their name up. They don't want to be known for publishing unfinished games without fixing it.
As for the money it costs to publish an update, I think 505 only has to pay fees to Sony and MS to test and distribute the update. It's all via internet, so there's no 'production costs' (for boxes and whatnot) or shipping costs.
Frankly, I don't understand why the update isn't here (big surprise). The problem seems to be in a networking error for PS3, afaik, and maybe it costs too much money to fix it, but it that case they would at least have the common decency to let us know, right?
