I managed 232 MPH in level flight in a simulator game this evening with WEP after accelerating (slowly gaining momentum more like) from 290 MPH in 30 seconds.
By comparison, the Blenhiem IV (real top speed 297 MPH) gains speed a lot quicker and it weighs a lot more. Peformance wise, I'd expect the Bf-110 to at least have the same rate of acceleration as the Japanese Gekko does in "Battlestations Pacific" or the Bf-110 C4 in "Blazing Angels" which is pretty much how a Bf-110 should perform. I dread to think how a P-38 Lightning would be portrayed in the game, if the way the Bf-110 isanything to go on. |

I'm going by what Airfix stated in the Bf-110 C4 model kit.... 293 MPH at sea level.

Mate you really cant compare a BoP 110 to a BSP geko lol, they are two different planes in two different games.
I will take the 110 up and do some speed tests at different heights. Could take a while, so i'll post the results on here when im done. You will prob be asleep by then so when you come on tomorrow can you tell me if the speeds are accuate enough etc. Cheers |

So far I've managed to just burn out the negines, even from dive starts, just trying to push past 260 MPH.
In IL-2 FB the Bf-210, which uses the same DB-605 engines, flies as it should do, according to historical documentation. The FB Bf-210 optional version with the 50mm. L60 FlaK gun in the belly out performs the BOP Bf-110 C4, which isn't quite what it should do. |

And the DB-605 is definatly no slouch of an engine. I did not know it was also on the 110. I was thinking only on the 210 and the later 109's.

the DB-605 was on the 110G
This game is the 110C isnt it? so the engine is completely different |

It was also fitted to the Japanese "Judy" dive bomber (50 MPH faster than the F2A Buffalo and F4F Wildcat) and the Kawasaki Ki-61 "Tony" fighter.
In BSM the Judy is slower than the F4F and in BSP the fault is corrected to make it faster, as it should be. I'll have to dig around in some of the books here. |

Given that the flight model was ported from IL2, the number of mistakes makes me think they simply decided they must make a few planes "suck" more.
Seriously, way too many mess-ups for the small number of planes in the game. |

Ok.... the 110c, as depicted in BIRDS OF PREY on the XBOX 360 clearly performs differently to how it should it real life, we have established that mate. Its really late, i have a bad back, im tired, but i'll do these speed tests, but i need the historical data for the 110c!!! so i can compare, not some completely different plane from a completely different game hahaha!!! if need be just give me a link and i'll do everything myself, just PLEASE dont give me info on other planes from other games that wont help me in any way shape or form ![]() cheers chief, we will no doubt catch up online tomorrow and compare what we've come up with since you enjoy flying this crate ![]() Oddly enough i have noticed when flying online with someone (tudorp) doing formation flying, they took the P51 nad i took the hurricane. In a climb the P51 pulled away at first, but after about 30 seconds the hurricane shot past the P51 and got to 30000ft long before it ![]() |
