In Il-2 series you can assign functions to buttons stick in two ways: First the so called Direct X method: In IL-2 GUI go to Controls, localize the function that you can assign to any button, click in front you name e hit the button in stick (or key in Keyboard if you desire change assignment for another key). Ie. You want to use keyboard arrows to trim (originally assigned for flight control - that you don't need as joystick to this), just click in front Upper Elevator Trim and hit down arrow key... Due several versions and patch's of IL-2 series, some controls don't have key or buttons assigned: Like Toggle Canopy, Toggle Chocks, Toggle Arrestor Hook... search for functions whit blank box in front. Note - Every IL-2 command cam by activate for two different keys or one key and one button - but not for 2 joy buttons. Bonus - You can change assignments in game (even in flight), just hit ESC and go to CONTROLS. Second way - Joy software - First assign keys to blank commands (chocks and etc), and then use you joystick software to program yours buttons to emulate the keys that active any command. Ie. Joy button 1 - emulate SPACE - that launch your bombs. I don't like these method, cause if I accidentally touch in SPACE I lost my bombs... Bonus - you can make several profiles, that allow that one button make different things. The best is combine these two methods. Hope that help. Sokol1 Last edited by Sokol1; 10-22-2009 at 09:11 PM. |
