Street Landings!?

I have yet to try and land in the streets.. I need to put that on my "to do" list. However, I have landed on the pier in the port of Dover, as well as landed on the wall around the port (almost didn't get stopped before hitting a lighthouse though). Now, I guess I need to hit the streets..

Everytime my engine gets shot black I like to practice dead stick landings in combat conditions! The best part is you can usually watch the other team crash trying to take you out. I even got lucky on time and managed to get a kill as someone over shot my dead plane. They need an achievement for dead stick kills!!

Ok.. Now, I join club "Streets of Fire". I landed on the streets of Berlin..

I think they should figure out how to score unconventional kills. I actually get lots of un-official kills by scraping my enemy off my tail by making them crash. but there is no way to prove that, or score it. Since I don't do well behind the guns, I have crashed countless foe by out flying them. I have crashed I don't know how many enemy on my six into the cliff sides, into towers, building, and of course the ground. I take the low road on most occasions, in many cases, in double digit altitudes only to hear the guy on my six to burst into flames behind me. A kill is a kill, and it stops the bullets from zinging over my canopy.. hehheh..

I flew upside down alongside someone trying this stunt last week, in a Hurricane, just to let him know he wasn't going to outfly me in an arcade team battle. It must have phased him as he pranged it seconds later.

I've flown an I-16 below roof height down a villiage street after being seperated from the main dogfight and being double teamed by a pair of determined Me-163 "Power Egg" players. Once back in the main battle a Spitfire took out one of them and I was then able to deal quickly with the other.

On the inverse of this was flying an Fw-190 A5 at just over 42,000 Feet to out ceiling a Bf-109 G6, which I more than succeeded at. The Bf-109 can't fly that high.

If the flight model for the Fw-190 wasn't so screwed up in BOP I would have been able to deal with him on more equal terms.

I have landed on streets in Sicily, Berlin, Stalingrad (but I haven't tried on the winter version for some reason yet), Dover and other towns in that area, etc.

One time I also managed to land on the docks in Dover's harbour.

Several weeks ago I chased a guy that took it to a street fight. He flew down below the roofs along a street. I assume he was a huge star wars fan (star wars people will understand that statement). I followed him and stayed on his six down into the streets at light post level, but I did end up missing a turn on main street and ended up in someone's 2nd floor apartment... He won that one.. It was a cool moment though..

If you find streets a touch enclosed, you can always try the frozen river in a wintry Stalingrad - plenty room!!!
