There could be 25 games in progress when you search for one and you wouldn't know it because the game doesn't show it or allow joining a match already in progress. Your best bet is to just host a match and you will find yourself in a game much quicker. After a few games like this, you will notice that you can ask for invites from ppl on your players list (tab is near your friends list) to get into games. The system is not set up to be very user friendly and actually makes it look like a lot less ppl are playing than actually are...

good luck

Tis true - it also doesn't show games that are full but haven't started yet. The games list does refresh itself fairly frequently though, so just because a list comes up empty, if you leave it on screen for a minute or two, games will pop up.

Or as someone else posted, just make your own game... You may sit there on your own for a while, but in BoP it never rains it pours lol. When another game ends there's a bunch of players looking for another and hopefully they'll come to yours...

I'm finding my PSP is really handy with this game... Either host or join then play PSP until the loading screen.

EDIT: maybe it should go on the patch wishlist for the server lists to show both full and in progress games...? Just so the online doesn't look as dead as it currently does, which may have a negative impact on the community. I mean, if you just bought the game and tried to jump online and all game modes show no games (which often happens) you may never come back...

I'm not advocating allowing you to join games in progress, but if it listed these games (well separated from joinable games), and showed the current score/time so you could see how nearly finished it was, it would be better IMO. As it currently stands, you can almost see the tumbleweeds...

I totally support that.

Devs should pay attention. It is of the utmost importance for the development of a community.

It should be one of the first thing fixed....

Default Never had a problem finding matches!...

On xbox360 as long as I hosted the game. Conversely, Ive NEVER been able to join or even FIND a game UNLESS I hosted! Not sure what Im doing wrong, I can fill a 4 slot Realistic Dogfight match that Im hosting within 5 minutes or so. But after the match is over, I can never find a host available, but as soon as I host a new game...bop, bop, bop, slots are full and new game is launching. Im on EST evenings as hot choclote (my kids tag )

For me (also on 360) it's all about timing and my friends and their fiends list. I log on and can usually see a few people playing from my friends list. Being that games usally go about 10 mins that's the longest I have to wait. I just keep an eye on the list and wait for a game to end. Then I run to join the game. The best luck I have for finding games is on "Player Match". Use the custom search and you should have some luck. Once you get into a game that usually solves your problem for the evening as you are now on the same 10 min cycle that everyone who is playing is on. If that makes sense.

I can understand the matchmaking never working, I've seen that with other games.

But why wouldn't the server list display suitable games?

I'd host a game when I want to play with the friends I have who own IL2, but sometimes they aren't online.

If you are on Xbox add jkerr419 I have a few friends that play it nightly. Also I don't know what it is called but when you are in your friends list move over to the right (another tab at the top of the screen) and it will display the last 20 or so people you have played games with. If my buddies aren't on I use that as a last resort.

I think the problem, other than not enough hosts/players, is that people are playing mainly 20 minute games now, but the lobby only has to remain open for a couple of minutes. It's EASY to miss a room.

What would be nice is to have on top a list of games still in the lobby, but below that a list of games that are currently being played and the remaining time on them. Even though the room doesn't remain open, you'd know that most likely a room is going to re-open a few seconds after that timer runs out.
