Steam and Cache-Deleting

Hi there

Does steam delete the cache when updating?

Because that could be the reason for some people here having crashes and stutters...?

I deleted the Cache along with some other changes on the system and i have better fps, so i don´t know if the cache is the reason for the extra-fps, but could it be?

Does any1 know?
