Since I'd love to go with a single card solution this would be the card for me, except it's waaaaaaayyyyyyyy too expensive for me. Better for me to focus on the GX-260. Besides, I'm not too sure how well SLi scales in flight sims. Guess i'd have to check it out.
Still, the -280 is a kick-@ss card!

I think it is better to buy 2 8800gt than a 9800gx2. 2X8800GT are more powerful than a 1 9800gx2. Also they are very cheap a 8800gt costs about 130 euros now but when i bought in january it was 250 euros. Also keep in mind that you need a very good cpu to take advantage of such powerful cards. My AthlonX2 4400 is not enough powerful for 8800gt. I can see this when i play crysis because i get lower frames rates than others people who has 8800gt and core 2 duo. I read in some forums that some people with 8800gts 320(this card is WAY less powerful than the 8800gt) and better processor gets more speed in crysis than i get with my 8800gt and AthlonX2.

Test results on my system(Amd X2 4400 socket 939 2,2ghz 2GB RAM DDR 400 8800GT 512MB

DOOM3 (ULTRA QUALITY 1280X1024 & AA4X) 300FPS
F.E.A.R. (MAX SETTINGS & 1280X1024 220FPS)
QUAKE4 (MAX SETTINGS 1280X1024 AA4X) 250-300FPS
CRYSIS (LOW SETTINGS 1280X1024 60 FPS (MEDIUM SETTNGS 1280X1024) 60 FPS (HIGH SETTINGS 1280X1024) 30-50 FPS
VERY HIGH SETTINS (10-35 FPS)
What do you think about my results on Crysis? Are they normal for my system?
