As to the story on 141 Sqn, apparently the CO of 141 visited 264 Sqn before their first mission, confiding to Hunter he thought the defiant a death-trap! when they were jumped on their first mission, by about 30 109s no less, they didn't follow tactics which 264 Sqn found worked against enemy fighters. .
