Oh man Rise of Flight. What a freaking title that is!!!! I am loving it & can't wait for the replay mode in 1.09 for sure!!!
I'm afraid I too have been wrapped in this title for atleast a year before release, following all the press notes & news & like you, bought it up on the 2 systems in a shot, thinking "IL-2 Sturmovik, the best combat flight sim money can buy, coming to console & promising much to the simmers aswell as gamers.....wow".
Unlike you however, I have been bitterly disappointed with the game from the start & I have let my opinions be known. I love the realism & involvement of a Sim, I love the immersion & I am a huge fan of the name IL-2 Sturmovik & its titles. I wont aire my opinions anymore for BoP, I'll just be repeating myself & boring others in the process; so I stuck around & waited for the patch. All I wanted was for a workable zoom to work in harmony with a deidated look-around, less screen tearing, & to be able to customise any one of the 3 pc flightsticks I have including the thrustmaster hotas & Sidewinder Precision Pro & so for me, personally, I get hardly anything from this long awaited patch.
I'm a huge fan of 1946 & Rise of Flight & I really do think they both pretty much got it right from their starting points. There are certain limitations to console but hey; Over G Fighters got it right; straight out of the box IMO & still remains the greatest flight sim on next gen console.
Rant over. I can't change anything here & so I'll keep quiet once again & sift the forum for any hints ppl may have. Speaking of which; thanks to trk29 & Infinate States for pointing out the P-51D being better on the default layouts. They're layouts I can't use but you're right, the Mustang does handle much better .
