Probably one of the reasons why the Flight leader of 144 Sqn called the defiant a def-trap ..
and notice how the flarings, both forward and rear automatically move up and down as the turret rotates. .

Love the bit about, "If you don't close the sliding doors it can get a bit draughty!" That's the understatement of the year! And they didn't even give them a cheat sheet! If I'd seen that before volunteering for a gunner I think I'd have switched to being a cook!
