I am Catholic and I can tell you that you can not mix the history and theology are two different matters even the science and physics not can explain the theology.

While I will respect your views I have to believe that they were taught to you by people who don't actually believe what they teach. I am a man of science and find little conflict between my science and my beliefs and further I have no trouble explaining what they are (usually).

Actually the historical evidence doesnt support any of the stories of jesus. Not one historian wrote of any miracle worker doing miraculous things. Philo I believe was his name was a historian of the early first century in the judea area around 5-40 CE. He was there when the mythical jesus was alledged to have been alive yet this early first century historian never mentions jesus or anyone with similar attributes. Not to mention any miracles.

Im sorry but the historical evidence just doesnt exsist to support the story of jesus. Have you ever heard of Horus or Mithra?? Same story as jesus yet hundreds to a thousand years before jesus yet identical stories.

When you say man of science does that mean your a "professional" scientist as in your educational background? Or an amature science "geek" lol.
Myself, I am a man of science, chemist by trade. Being taught in the art of scientific study its impossible to believe something that cant be proven.
Science tell us if something is true should should be able to observe it or reproduce its results, religion can do neither.

Personally i have no doubt Jesus was a real PERSON who preached and had followers.

What he after his death turned into was the work of the roman catholic church in wich i dont belive a single word of.
