I'm one of those that has played too many of all the games released since 1984, and I notice that for decades I've been "searching for the Grail" in many different gaming categories... Some way I end up waiting for some game, then when it arrives I play it for a week or two only to realize it was not the Grail - again! I pick up some game years before the release like "Combat Mission Battle for Normandy" for wargames, "Star Wars the Old Republic" for an MMO, Silent Hunter 5 for a Naval simulator but mostly flight sims naturally. I waited for Rise of Flight since that first thread in the SimHQ forum etc... Every time I get a bit disappointed even though some get close to the mark. And then I friggin start waiting for something else to be the Grail. Right now I'm waiting for the CloD patch thinking it may be the Grail

I guess the chase is better than the catch?

There are a few games that I really played for years, like the Dynamix series, the Falcon series, the Combat Mission series, the Steel Panther series and of course the mother of all goats IL2 that's been on my hard drives since the first release ten years ago... But I do play Steel Panters (WinSPMBT) occasionally on PBEM so I guess that's the winner in longevity even though It's very far from that first Steel Panthers it's still the same game at heart.

Thinking of it I will start a new thread in the Pilots Lounge taking a screenshot of my current "games" folder with my current game shortcuts I have on my desktop and see if others chime in for some inspiration

And yes - I do spend to much time here in my grail hunting quest. A good relaxation from a high stress load at work and all the other demands of life

EDIT: And to the original question I just have 55 hours on Clod, still waiting to start the campaign after the Grail patch - but It's working multiplayer that I'm really waiting for...

Haven't played since laid off work ( had it installed on the test server with other games) . And no it wasn't playing that got me axed. It was acquisition and political intrigue. I don't have a beast pc strong to run Clod

So yeah I spend time here until I save and build a dream pc for the sim

Last flew beginning of December if my memory serves me right. Waiting for patch and next generation of AMD budget video cards...or maybe the generation after the next one rather.

I get about an hour or two of CoD online most days, usually late at night after household asleep. But I check in on forums periodically through the day with my ever present iPad and/or iPhone.

About 8 hours a week online with JG52 in ATAG, over 2 nights, and 3-4 hours on my own, either offline learning the bombers, or occasionally online.
I am in the forums a lot though...
During the day I am on a laptop, when I fly I use my other computer, which is set up with my flight gear.

More here than ingame... playing is somehow "postponed" until the patch´s out.

But just today I flew half an hour and it was nice...

I added it up recently and found I averaged 2.64 minutes a day in clod since release. I look in here several times a day however
