I used to play a lot of combat flight sims, and one of the funnest things to me was fighting to keep bombers or planes alive after being tagged a few times. In the Demo it seems like once you take a decent amount of damage to the point where its a guarantee that you will go down, the comp takes control and ur offered to respawn and watch your bird go down. Please tell me that this isnt the case. Even if your craft is severely damaged its always fun to see if you can pull off a crash landing with out making it go boom.

Considering disabling the automatic bails and instant explosions.

I think they should. Because some people can are pretty crafty. and lets say its one of those base attack versions and your heavily disabled, why not Kamikaze right into a ground target. Or make it where if you get shot up and make it to your friendly base u get repaired. Landing a damaged craft is real tough and it might cut down on people trying to crash after u tag them.

In the game, at least on realistic and simulator, you are very often shot to the point where you are barely in control of your aircraft in the exact manner I believe you are refferring to, and yes it is fun, albeit usually extremely difficult to try and bring the aircraft down safely in this state. This happens most in multiplayer since the AI are so dumb in single player.
