Stuck with "Staff of starlight"

After talking to 3 mages in arlania , I went to activate three ancient altars.

But the shield of tower of archmage rezo didn't disappear....and the mages are disappeared....

Did I miss something to deactivate the magic shield?

Quest log shows "Pay a visit to the Tower of Archmage Rezo"

Hmmm...my memory is a bit hazy, did you fight the guardians at each altar? I vaguely recally clicking on the altars, and then coming back later to find guards at each.

After you activate the three altars (and fight their keepers), the shield around the tower should be gone, and a mage dude should be standing in front of it, kick his ass for the staff...

After several tries, ( including change the order of activating altars ( and fight with gurads)), the shield just don't disappear

I think I'll travel to another land first and come back later to see if it will be solved...

Did you talk to all three mages maintaining the shield before trying to activate the altars?

yes,
I can activate the altars after talking with three mages, and Ordo is the patientest mage willing talk with me .

one thing strange is the texture of altar of chaos seems broken.
doesn't looks like others.
