I'm here to gather players to play on a server with more action!

Nevermind. I don't think this will work. Right now the REPKA Duel server is populated and there is no password on, so I invite you to join me there.

Edit: If someone will help me out finding the delete thread option I'll get rid of this entirely.

I would join but the patch isn't out yet and it would be pointless at the moment due to crashing and FPS. When the patch is out and it does this 50% increase the developers says it does then I will join you. I just hope this patch is sooner rather then later because I have had patience for a year now and never moaned once.

I talk and fly a lot with our squad, and a lot of us fly, several flight sims and several versions of IL-2. We chat about the upcoming patch, the problems we have now, the need to stop cheating, the lack of servers.. and also most people gather on one server, so everyone gravitates to that server. ...

We need the patch, the steam to put in anti-cheat, we run our own IL-2 1946 server, but haven't yet started our own COD server..

The lack of the patch is one reason why many people have chosen to wait to buy it, or fly it more often... some cannot afford to make a huge upgrade for the performance issues, others are sick of the open cheating....

just sayin' like it is,,,

we wait like everyone else to improve...
No way in hell I can afford to upgrade my current computer,,, but I can run on medium,,,
there are a lot of times where in a dogfight over ships the fps drops to almost frozen...
but most the time it's ok... but the patch is desperately needed,, and if it can be shown that the average IL-2 pilot doesn't need to spend a fortune to fly COD, then the rest will buy it... then the matter of the cheating, and needing some security against that...

I am not saying anything new here.. but, I have said to my friends, hey, lets try more servers, and said hey, maybe if we go to another server, maybe some will follow us over..
but, so far, no luck in having more servers rocking with COD...

And no way in hell I can run a server, it takes a monster computer just to get decent fps..
and since there is no dedicated server software that is killing the idea of running a paid server, like we do for IL-2 1946..

Just more thoughts..

How can you cheat in this game may I ask? and why would anyone want to. Also I have never crashed the program since using memory booster.

Online as well as offline? Could you share your system specs please?

Both. I play on ATAC. Offline is when I crashed most to tell the truth. I tend to only play online now whilst I practice my bombing techniques and have never crashed the program to this day. I still may, but I don't think its as virulent as people make out, def not a game breaker. I think most of the ATAC team would attest to that.

Mac pro 1.1, 4 gig, 2 x zeon 5150 dual core processors running at 2.66mhz, win 7, gtx460.

I also never more experienced crashes after fix for 1.05.15950... Memory booster has helped the program run smoother

Hang on PotNoodles -- good times ahead

In the meantime, give ATAG server a try if you want a peek at your online future. They're a helpful bunch of guys. Most of them are old hands with flight sims and they've come up with some temporary work arounds for the Steam glitches etc.

So. is the "cheating" something widely known to happen??

Not sure if expirienced cheats, but usually when you chase someone and lots is going on you get the FPS slowdown. I think even when it's lag induced somehow it just slows down fps (atlest have been that way for me). Know that in IL-46 lag would make your opponent warp around all over your screen, but never had that happen in CLOD.

That is till got on the 6 of some guy's. Suddenly they started warping up and down before me, withouth any FPS drops at all.
Hope was just some freak thing happening as really would hate guy's i concider to be good lowering down to use of such tactics, but as mentioned never seen the regular "lag warp" on other than on the 6 of some.

Really hope it was just lag.
