Found today, after a few sorties on ATAG, that the bloody RAF knows that I'm in an yellow nose 109 although I choosed the JG27 vanilla alternate skin (green + grey). Is there a way to fly online without being damn yellow?
Regards. |

I think skin data is put to low priority in network code now to remove stutters. Thus it may take time till your opponent knows what skin you are using instead of default.
Custom skins can be turned off client side what I recommend everyone to do in network settings to reduce server lag and stutters at least till we have very stable and smooth online. |

Sorry but I turn skin d/load off because of the stutters they create. You will always be in a stock skin to me. But you know, I don't think it makes a lot of difference. By the time I see the yellow nose I'm pretty sure I've ID'd the a/c as a 109. It may help me a bit on the swirl of a dogfight.

Thanks for the inputs.
Regards. PS: Klem I also have skins set to off, the one I use is also a stock skin, so I thought it was possible to use it. Was thinking that I could have been doing something wrong... |

A couple of us in the squad thought the same, picking one of the skins that ship with CoD we assumed that one would just show up.Thats not the case if the server has set it to off, and you end up in a 109 with a big 'shoot me' yellow nose.

There is no server settings for skins as far as I know, only client side.

It works server side as well. Edit: Btw, I've tried adding this line (just like for IL246) for a while now. It seems the last official patch is when it started working for IL2COD. Just FYI.. Last edited by ATAG_Bliss; 11-19-2011 at 02:13 PM. |
