Dear All,
The recent automatic update on steam does not run on my machine. I must point out that I am using the XP64 OS and DX9. What happens is I hit fly and the mission gets to the end of the loading sequence, then it says the launcher has a problem and needs to close. I click on OK and it goes to desktop. Could you please give me some advice on what I need to do. regards, Pike. |

AFAIK it is not XP friendly. I do not know if anyone runs latest patch on XP. Win7x64 is the way to go.

Pike it didn't run on my machine either automatically. I had to click "verify game install", then it asks me to update the file system to a newer version and after I did that Steam started to download the update automatically.

No I have not tried to go online........I have tried quick missions only. I have reinstalled the previous patch and the game works again. (v 15866). I have 4 Gig of RAM and the game runs perfectly well now, but if it updates it will not work again!

Try deleting 1c Softclub folder under Documents and reinstall everything from /redist/ folder. If it does not help it is probably XP issue.

Do I reinstall the latest patch that does not work first or do I try to do it with v15866?
