Question Question about Router ports for hosting coop

I have gathered some infor on hosting IL-2 COD on Steam, and saw this stuff..
------
Steam Ports
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...8571-GLVN-8711
=======
Required Ports for Steam
Question:
Which ports do I need to open on my router or firewall for Steam?

Answer
Your network must be configured to allow Steam access to the following ports (in order from highest to lowest priority for QoS users):

Steam Client
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive (Game client traffic)
UDP 27015 to 27030 inclusive (Typically Matchmaking and HLTV)
TCP 27014 to 27050 inclusive (Steam downloads)
UDP 4380

Dedicated or Listen Servers
TCP 27015 (SRCDS Rcon port)

Steamworks P2P Networking and Steam Voice Chat
UDP 3478 (Outbound)
UDP 4379 (Outbound)
UDP 4380 (Outbound)

Additional Ports for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer
UDP 1500 (outbound)
UDP 3005 (outbound)
UDP 3101 (outbound)
UDP 28960
========

But, I can, with no problem join servers and play,, no problemo.. but i want to host missions..

With my router, which ports must be opened?
If they are udp and tcp and overlap, I like to cobime them into one input like 27000 to 27050 (Both udp and tcp). Instead of putting 27000 to 27104, then another line with 27015 to 27030, in steps.. that makes no sense, even though Steam lists all the ports in several batches of tcp and udp numbers..

But, in the game and ini file 27015 are listed, also 27016. (both udp and tcp).
----
But, I had freinds check the servers and they said they did not see my server when I listed the 27000 to 27050 (both udp and tcp). I also have put upd 4380 (not sure if I need that).
---

not that it's much different the brand and model, but it's a new Netgear cable modem and router combined 'N' series.. and has plenty of avaiable ports to add..

Bottom line, there is no Faq or post in a forum that clearly spells out what ports to put in my Router to host Clod.

Also, there is a 'Lobby', in Clod, what is that for?

Again, I have no problem joining all games on servers.
My gaming computer is wired to the modem, I use wireless for other computers at home that are non-gaming.

Thanx..

This is what I did to host a server: Forward the port used by IL-2 COD to the IP used of the pc. By default this is 27015 or 27016 (for dedicated server), but just forward both. Don't know if its udp or tcp, again just forward both.

Then use the "lobby" to host the server, because this guarantees that the server is shown in the list.

Edit: It's important that the ports are not only open but also forwarded to the IP of the pc.

so, it is the Lobby, we use to host, as I wondered, but no one could tell me.. and the servers are actuall using full on server scripts I would think..

Thanx..

Lobby is for those who is put behind a provider's router by provider (and therefore can not forward ports I assume).

In Server section servers do not show up immediately even when ports are forwarded. Search for "server not in server list" for several possible solutions.

Thumbs up

it worked using the Lobby...
I forwarded 27015 and 27016 both udp and tcp.
I have a Netgear combination cable modem with router 'N' series.
worked great...
it ran 12 hours without one hiccup..
