A while agon the said they were workiung on the E4. As next plane i was expecting the E4, not the E1. Its so little needed like the Spit IIa in the BOB scenario if i get that right.

The E-4 was mentioned but i guess there's some extra work for that one. Apart from giving it the minengeschoss shells there's also some 3d modelling work involved (armored backrest, etc) and they will also have to model the automatic prop pitch system.

On the other hand, the E-1 is like an E-3 with different guns in the wings and slightly different wing textures (due the different gun bays), so that's why we got it first, it was faster to make. I tried it first thing after i installed the latest patch and i like it a lot, it's very good against fighters but not so good against bombers (like it probably should happen, bombers need cannons to bring them down).

As for the E-7 i don't know if it had any differences in engine or other systems, but i think the main characteristic is the ability to carry a drop tank. I'm not really sure about this, but it seems like the E-7 is actually an "E-4b" with drop tank ability. I think these came late into the battle.

As for your fps counter, to hide it type into the console: fps STOP HIDE
This will both stop the counter and hide the display. I think that if you type fps START HIDE it will reset the frame counter and hide it but it will keep counting in the background, but i'm not 100% sure about this.

The E-7 is essentially a standardized version of the Emil which took all the modifications of the previous versions (most importantly those of the E-4) into the production process. The main difference was the installation of the necessary plumbing for a droptank (which the Emil could not use prior to the E-7) but apparently the droptanks weren't used before early 1941 (and therefor they're not relevant for the BoB).

Structurally neither the E-1 nor the E-3 nor the E-4 (or the E-7 for that matter) were different in any way. The difference which led to a different subseries was the wing armament - the E-1 used MG 17, the E-3 used MG FF and the E-4 used MG FF/M and in many many cases both earlier versions were reequipped with MG FF/M and therefor became E-4s. Any other details (such as the early and late type canopy and the armored headrest) cannot be used to discern the actual subversion.

The E-7 were builded from August 1940 and production ended en october of the same year. Some 439 of this model were builded. The first unit to have the model was the I./LG 2 in August 1940 at Jever. From Aug 22, the unit was deployed at Calais Marck and returned to Germany Nov 5, 1940. One visible difference in this model was the propeller spinner carenage, closing and obturing the inused engine cannon hole. Some extra kph gained with this modification. Was retrofitted also to some olds Es.

In fact a lot of Emils later became E-7 when they got upgraded to the same standard. The Emil is somwehat unique in the german designation system as it was the only type that received a new subseries number when upgraded. Because of that production numbers don't tell you how many E-7 (or E-4 for that matter) really were in use.

The planning progressed in the same manner with the G series. Continuous innovations, a new type mark was published aggregating these then. For example, the late G-6 and early G-14 the same type. G-14/AS and early G-10 have minor differences too. It occurred that later types received previous type components because of production or supply difficulties. In the later section of the war this increasingly more considerable.
