After a few patches you might be able to run it at the very lowest settings , which probably won't look near as good as an updated version of IL2 1946. So you may want to stick with IL 2 1946 until you can get a more powerful system.
As it stands right at the moment , IL 2 1946 ( with mods ) is still near the top of the Simulator list  sg
