I can see 6 chests grouped together in the Russian Fan manual, so at least I know they are equivalent.
There is another group of 5... probably for the adventure mode (still, equivalent). The chest with the fancy golden handle stands alone - maybe they are better than the rest?
I got the impression that different chests should mean different things from the tutorial. The quest item was contained in a yellow chests and all the others are blue chests. Maybe they aren't different anymore.
