If the spit keeps his turn, then you can shoot him without seeing him, because you can (learn to) guess where he will be.
Another thing I learned: if you shoot too soon, you'll ruin your aim and with tracers and stuff you ruin your view as well. It is indeed better to wait until you know which way he will turn, then adjust lead and fire a quick burst. I think this gets better with practise and experience. Right now, on HL I'm just too nervous to actually do that . Luckily, the FW 190 has immense firepower which makes it easier....

Shoot anyways... Don't be afraid to use your ammo you have a ton of it. Always take a shot if it looks good.
You aren't going to get very many chances with an Aware Spit. Tracking shots and suchs are rare.
Deflection shooting and Snap Shots is what you need to get good at with the FW.
Dead horse I know but don't get suckered into a turn more than 90 degrees. Keep on driving out of his turn circle for enough seperation to come back in. Any fool Spit driver that wants to go head to head with a FW is a welcome in my book to get a face full of cannon fire.
Which brings up another point. Get used to head ons. Spits can force a neutral fight but given your amazing firepower don't be afraid and don't forget to pull out in time.
Learn to Yo Yo.... Stay away from Vertical Manuevers with him. He has the advantage. Diving and using your superior Roll is how you beat him.
And you best bet is to bounce him. It's not uncommon to dive 600kmh through a furball and pick off someone who has no clue your coming.
