Since you are running Vista have you tried running KB in compatibility mode?
If not try the following:
Locate the KB game icon in your Start Menu -OR- find the executable file. Right click and select properties and then click on the Compatiblity tab. Within the compatablility section, select the checkbox to enable this program in compatibility mode and then select Windows XP SP2 as the OS for the game.
If you have tried this then what kind of Video Card are you using?
