The other thing is that the specs as advertised on the sales information is far from correct.

There is an issue with Dx9 systems (xp and earlier) and you will need probably a quad core system (3.4gig+), 6gb ram,W7 and a vid card with 1Gb vid memory min. (2gb is better) to have a system that will give you the best performance.
Cliffs of Dover is far more demanding on graphics than Il2 46 is. There have been some issues reported with W8 (as I'm not using that yet I can't confirm that issue).

Read through the tech and performance sections, there you will find what others are having trouble with and some fixes for the problems.
What´s more is that you will get the most of the game if you play online with teamspeak.

Playing offline can get boring and frustrating as the Radio-Communications wit AI doesn´t work properly.

Also, you should do a quick search for the ATAG-Group and Team-Fusion.
Team Fusion is a mod-Group who is doing improvements on the game. The frist patch should be out in something like 48 hours. It will include drastic FM-improvements, some grapical fixes (contact visability) and probably much more. This patch could be a hughe step forward. The whole community is waiting for it!

Summed up: Yes, you should buy it, IF you have a system that can carry the load of CloD (the specs mentioned above are what you really need. You won´t get anything good with less Vram / ram).
