At a certain point in that quest you get no further updates, but in New Kordar there is a new teleporter available. You can find him, when heading towards the teleporter to the Crestone Mine and then turn right. When you first enter New Kordar this way was blocked if I remember right. This teleporter lifts you to an upper floor in New Kordar where you will find the teleporter to Riftland!
The problem at this point is, that you get no hint about the fact that this new teleporter is available.
Maybe that's the clou for you?!
