Lots of shelling, MGs, belts of wire, sniping, trench raids, gas, shattered landscapes, smashed trenches, pools of greenish feted water and the grotesque twisted remains of things that were once human beings. If the detailing was well done, I think it could be real winner

You forgot cowering in the bottom of the trench to avoid shrapnel from local shelling, only to be buried under several yards of mud thrown up when one of those big railway howitzers lands an 18" shell near you
